Anna Raithel first came to Tara Mandala as a summer volunteer, and after completing her B.A. in Religion at Wesleyan University, became a full-time resident. Over the next six years she held many roles including volunteer coordinator, retreat manager, temple manager, and finally as Lama Tsultrim’s executive assistant and tour manager. She also studied Tibetan language and gyaling (Tibetan oboe), coordinated the annual Drubchens, and was the lead umdze (chant leader) and chöpön (ritual arts leader). Wanting to expand her horizons and serve the dharma in a different capacity, she left Tara Mandala in 2015 to pursue an M.B.A. at the University of Oregon, focusing on sustainable business practices. While in school, she interned at Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, a nonprofit spinoff from Google that teaches mindfulness and emotional intelligence to executives and coaches. Anna is currently an apprentice teacher and continues to teach the ritual arts.
