On a clear day after many days of rain we were blessed to have Lama Tsultrim with us at Tara Mandala, August 10, 2022, during our recent onsite Magyu retreat. This is the first time she has been on the land in three years!
To have Lama here, especially with retreatants, community, and staff finally coming together—along with the wildlife in full bloom—was a profoundly moving experience for everyone.
Lama Tsultrim gave a special teaching to the Magyu Mother Lineage, the Machig Longevity Practice given to her in a vision in Machig’s cave in Bhutan in 2017.
This was the first time it was taught because she wanted to give it on the Tara Mandala land to the Magyu students, many of whom were her senior students. She also included all the residents in the teaching. She was overjoyed to be in the temple, seeing the new Machig Labdrön statue and the newly installed ceiling mandalas.
She then toured the land with her son, Dorje Gyaltsab Tulku Ösel Dorje, and described her long term vision, and he shared some dreams and visions he has been having of how Tara Mandala can continue to develop.
Em Ah Ho! The oceans of appreciation that we have for Lama is reflected in these words from some retreatants:
“Her great kindness and compassion to help her students is shown in her unending efforts to get here. This reminds me of Adzom Rinpoche doing the same in coming across snowbound lands for his students!”
“Oh what joy to be present with her and hear her beautiful teachings”
“Generous, precious wisdom holder, gratitude”
“Thank you, Machig! Bless you”
