1. Lama Live!
(Free Offering)
Lama Tsultrim is starting a weekly free live program called “Lama Live!“ that will be a combination of guided meditation, teachings and dialogue. It will be available simultaneously on both her public Facebook page and Tara Mandala YouTube channel. The inspiration for this program came because Lama Tsultrim has been looking for ways to be directly in touch and supportive during these challenging times. Sometimes she may invite guests as well as have other teachers lead this program. No charge to attend; you will have the opportunity to offer Dana to Lama Tsultrim after the event. 2. Share the Dharma
(Free Offerings)
Tara Mandala is expanding access to Buddhist practices and teachings while offering an equity-informed fee structure when possible. The Share the Dharma Initiative was implemented with the aspiration to increase access to the Dharma and opportunities to receive teachings and practices. With this initiative, we strive to make select programs more open to all while furthering the important conversations around current societal structures that inhibit equal access for underprivileged and underrepresented communities.
Programs within the Share the Dharma Initiative are offered free of charge through the generosity of sponsoring donors.
- Participants in this initiative will have an opportunity to make an optional donation to Tara Mandala to support its mission if they have the financial capacity to do so.
- Participants may pay for extended access to retreat recordings for a small fee.
- Because these programs are offered for free, Sustaining Sangha discounts will not apply to the recording access fees.
The Share the Dharma Initiative is only applicable to select Virtual Retreats at this time. Visit our calendar for retreats with this designation.
3. Virtual Dharma Talks
This year we are implementing Lama Tsultrim’s vision to offer Virtual Dharma Talks to elevate and spread the voices of women Dharma teachers and experts globally. These talks offer short but powerful teachings by a wide range of teachers including BBIPOC Buddhist Women teachers. Lama has invited an amazing line-up of teachers and topics this year for this series, including Jeanine Canty, Zenju Earthlyn-Manuel, Christina Monson, Amelia Hall, Elizabeth Mattis-Namgyel, Sangye Khandro, Sarah Harding, and more. Registration for each talk is available at Access Rate of $25.

4. Access Pricing Plan
In 2022, we have launched a new “Access Rate” pricing range for all of our programs, which is set lower than our actual ‘breakeven’ cost.
The new pricing structure includes 3-tier rates:
• Access Level (includes access to recordings of all sessions for up to 7 days from the end of the retreat). Registration at this level is offered 35% below the cost of holding this retreat to assist participants with financial limitations and encourage the exploration and practice of Dharma.
• Tier 1 (includes access to recordings of all sessions for up to 30 days from the end of the retreat). Registration at this level covers the basic program costs for this retreat and allows Tara Mandala to maintain sustainability.
• Tier 2 (includes access to recordings of all sessions for up to 1 year from the end of the retreat). Registration at this level covers the program costs for this retreat and provides additional support for the year-round work of Tara Mandala.
Those who have capacity to sign up at levels 2 and 3 directly support those who need the lower Access Rate to attend programs. We appreciate the generosity of those who choose the two higher rates. In 2021, approximately 35% of participants signed up for the higher tiered program levels, giving us encouragement that we can successfully offer the new Access Rate program pricing plan.
5. Lodging at Tara Mandala Colorado becomes “First Come, First Served”
Beginning in 2022, we want to ensure as many people as possible can come to Tara Mandala Retreat Center in Colorado and stay in Prajna Hall, our beautiful dormitory building envisioned by Lama Tsultrim. After reviewing occupancy and demographic data over several years, we have realized Prajna Hall is often underutilized. We want to change that!
Moving forward, lodging options and prices are structured so a participant is asked, upon registration, to select a Room & Board Fee and a Program Fee. These two fees will be added together at checkout to complete the retreat registration. Our new Room & Board Fees will create more affordable and greater access to lodging options that support the needs of our participants. This may also encourage greater generosity from everyone, who are able, via the Program Fee – which will follow a 3-tier pricing structure.
All Room & Board Fees include 3 meals a day (dinner on the first day, and breakfast on the last day of the retreat) and the use of Tara Mandala’s facilities during the visit.
- Standard Room & Board Fee: With this standard fee, participants can choose from Camping, Tent Cabins, Yurt Dorm, and Prajna Hall Double Room lodging. Click here to learn more about each accommodation.
- Prajna Single Queen Room & Board Fee: When this lodging option is available, participants can choose to stay in a Single Prajna Queen Bed Room with shared bathroom. Click here to learn more about this accommodation.
- Commuting Fee: When available, participants can choose to stay at a location outside of Tara Mandala and commute for the teachings. Please note that not all retreats permit having a practitioner stay outside of the center due to the nature of the teachings being offered.
With this new structure, room and board registration will be set on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of registration. We encourage all participants to register early to secure their most preferred lodging!
6. Tara Mandala Network on the Mighty Networks Platform
(Free Offerings)
The Tara Mandala Network has been created for the collective engagement, support, and community building among our global sangha members and practice pathways. By sharing our practice, resources and wisdom, our sangha will continue to grow and flourish in the Dharma. This network is expressly for the enrichment and sharing of the enlightened activities of our international Tara Mandala Sangha.
This community network has been created within Mighty Networks, a third party platform that mimics a Facebook-like networking experience but with improved privacy protection and without ads or algorithms. Participation is free and contributes to our efforts toward connecting more with our amazing Sangha.
Our overall goals with this new offering include:
1. Enhancing community interaction among the Tara Mandala Global Sangha members.
2. Simplifying access to resources and the community as a whole.
3. Creating space for practitioners to connect, practice together, and deepen core Tara Mandala practices.
4. Connecting staff, board, teachers, long-term program members, and global sangha leaders and members as allied practitioners on the path.
Anyone who is a global sangha member can join. This network will become the default space for forum discussion for participants in all our online courses. Groups will be created within our network that members can join based on whether they are part of a long-term program cohort or have attended teachings on a specific core practice at Tara Mandala (i.e. Green Tara, Wisdom Rising, CNNR Chöd, Magyu, Ösel Nyingtig, Gateway, etc.)
