Cutting Through Ego: Upcoming Virtual Offerings

“The point of Chöd is to let go of what you cling to …” ~ Lama Tsultrim Allione

In the 11th century, Tibetan yogini Machig Labdrön developed the Chöd practice, bringing together ancient shamanic principles and classic Buddhist teachings on emptiness and generosity. Chöd means “to cut through”. In Machig’s teachings, we are cutting through four types demons, or obstacles to liberation, with the fundamental root demon being “ego-clinging.”

Below, we are happy to share three upcoming offerings, that honor this Tibetan Buddhist “severance” tradition:

  • Feeding Your Demons® – Developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione out of the Chöd practice, as a more intimate and personalized method in healing challenging aspects of our being.
  • Parchangma Chöd – A longtime core practice in the Tara Mandala community, and a beautiful Chöd practice that is rich, melodious, and poetic.
  • Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche Chöd Daylong – This “workshop” offers helpful insights and tips on the Chöd of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche.

In this video, Lama Tsultrim talks about how “cutting through” heals the disease of ego-clinging.
