Temple Fund – Preserving our sacred mandala

Tara Temple

Tara Mandala’s Temple was completed in 2009 and is the heart and soul of the retreat center and land. Its beauty, symbolism, art and structure embody our core practices and lineage. The three-story, 12,000 sq. ft. Tara Temple was built between 2007 and 2009 using the skills of traditional Bhutanese wood carvers and Tibetan artists. Lama Gyurme Rabgye was the visual artist and painter of the entire temple and worked closely with David Petit and Lama Tsultrim Allione to create one of the most exquisite representations of Vajrayana Buddhist cosmology in the world. His work is featured throughout the inside and outside of the temple, with unique imagery on each of the four entrance facades.

Temple Fund

The mandala-shaped Tara Temple is now 13 years old and in need of restoration and upgrades. We are launching the Temple Fund to complete critical repairs for drainage and snow melt, repair and refresh paint on the inside, restore the artwork on the outside of the temple, purchase new cushions and furnishings, purchase AV/film/live-streaming equipment, and establish a permanent maintenance fund to support ongoing needs including the gardens and irrigation system.
