“Look for the essence of mind – this is meaningful. When you look at mind, there is nothing to be seen. In this very not seeing, you see the definitive meaning.” ~ Machig Labdrön.

The Rinchen Trengwa (Garland Of Jewels)
In October, 2017, the Tara Mandala Sangha travelled to Druk Zangri Khamar, Bhutan. They were fortunate to join the monastery’s practice of the Rinchen Trenga (Garland of Jewels). Please enjoy this video filmed at the seat of Machig Labdrön’s lineage in Bhutan.
The Rinchen Trengwa (Garland Of Jewels) retreat is currently underway at Tara Mandala, due to Drubpön Lama Karma‘s kindness and generosity, transmitting and teaching Machig Labdrön’s living oral lineage in its entirety. This is a vital piece in continuing to establish the lineages of Machig Labdrön at Tara Mandala. Em Ah Ho!
About Machig Labdrön
In this 6min audio, Lama Tsultrim Allione gives a background to 11th Century Tibetan yogini Machig Ladrön, and talks about her description of ego-clinging (or “demons”), and how they relate to Lama Tsultrim’s developed practice of “Feeding Your Demons“. Listen Now →
Machig was one of the few Tibetan women to establish practice lineages of her own, and her teachings have been disseminated into every school of Tibetan Buddhism. Although she is most well-known for her teachings on Chöd, the core of Machig’s teachings is meditation on the Nature of Mind. This doesn’t refer to the conventional thinking mind, but the nature of mind itself that underlies our thought. It is the basis for teachings on Mahamudra, Dzogchen, and Prajnaparamita. In this online program, participants will be lead through the final teachings that Machig offered to her students, known as “Machig’s Last Instructions.” Download →
