Chöd
With Chandra Easton, Karla Jackson-Brewer
June 21 - 25, 2012
Tara Mandala, Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
Chöd is a unique blend of the Tibetan Shamanic traditions and the Buddhist tradition of compassion and emptiness. This centuries-old practice is sung and is accompanied by the use of a traditional Chöd drum and bell. Healing comes when fear, fixation, and self-clinging are cut through, based on nurturing not fighting what assails us, giving rise to the awareness of the empty nature of afflictive emotions.
Required materials: The chöd practice requires a chöd drum and bell, both of which are available through our bookstore. Also recommended is a headlamp or small book-light for night practice and a small stand on which to clip the practice (a dish display rack found in craft stores works well).
The Chöd Retreat is a prerequisite for Kapala Training Level III.
