Come Celebrate Global Mala and Founder's Day at Tara Mandala: Sept 19, 2009, 11am - 6pm The Global Mala Ritual Offering is a simultaneous world wide celebration of peace and awakening founded by Shiva Rea, who will host it at Tara Mandala this year with seven regional yoga studios and Lama Tsultrim. This year we also celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Chabg Chub Stupa, consecrated by Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche in September of 1999. At 11am we will begin our outer journey with a hike around the mandala of Ekajati Peak, the hill at the center of Tara Mandala. In the afternoon we will explore the inner mandala of the five Buddha families in the temple and light the stupa with candles while circumambulating after hearing the story of the stupa and its meaning. A delicious vegetarian lunch will be served. Please preregister. Suggested donation for the day (sliding scale): $27 - $54 - $108 |
Moving Through the Mandala: A Yoga Retreat - September 18 - 23
At the heart of the mandala is the union of the primordial masculine and feminine, bliss and emptiness, wisdom and skillful means, known as yab-yum. Whether one is solo or with a partner on retreat, Lama Tsultrim will initiate the exquisite yab-yum mandala through inner consort practice within the matrix of the five Buddha families. All of one’s experience can be understood through the energies of the five Buddha families, each of which includes the transformation of the five encumbered energy patterns: anger, depression, pride, craving and jealousy into their corresponding primordial wisdom. |
Yeshe Tsogyel's Vajra Songs - October 10 - 15, 2009
For the first time ever, Tsoknyi Rinpoche will teach on Yeshe Tsogyel, the great yogini of Tibet, using her teaching songs as a vehicle to reveal the essence of Dzog Chen. Yeshe Tsogyel was a brilliant Dakini and highly realized yogini. Her songs and responses to her students' questions are filled with depth, intimacy, and poetry, and profoundly elucidate the nine vehicles and the Dzog Chen way.
